I am proud to endorse Naomi Riess for Colorado House District 59.

During my nearly 15 years in Congress, I learned that effective leadership begins with listening, doing your homework and understanding how public policy affects people’s everyday lives. Naomi brings that thoughtful approach, backed by more than three decades of service to Southwest Colorado.

As a mother and through my work with Mothers for Awareness and Prevention of Drug Abuse, I care deeply about giving families the knowledge and resources to keep their children safe. Prevention starts with awareness, and lasting progress requires parents, educators and community leaders working together.

Naomi’s involvement in education, agriculture and land-use planning reflects her commitment to those same community connections. She understands that decisions about healthcare, housing, public safety and the economy have real consequences for families and small businesses.

Her experience as a mediator is especially valuable. We need leaders who can listen through disagreement, ask thoughtful questions and help people find workable solutions.

Naomi has spent years helping people navigate challenges in their own communities. She will bring practical experience, preparation and a strong local perspective to the Colorado Legislature.
