Naomi Riess understands something that too many people at the State Capitol seem to forget: government decisions have real consequences for the people who have to live with them.
For more than three decades, Naomi has worked with farmers, ranchers, property owners, small businesses and local governments throughout Southwest Colorado. As a land-use consultant, small-business owner and farmer, she has seen firsthand what happens when regulations written somewhere else collide with the realities of rural communities.
That experience matters.
Naomi understands the importance of private property rights, local decision-making, responsible stewardship of our land and water, strong families and creating an environment where businesses and individuals have the freedom to succeed. She also understands that government’s job is not to solve every problem from Denver, but to respect the people and communities closest to those problems.
Having represented a large rural district myself, I know there is no substitute for understanding the people, businesses and communities you represent. Naomi has spent more than 30 years doing exactly that in Southwest Colorado.
She brings practical experience, common sense and a genuine understanding of rural Colorado to the race for House District 59.
