Former Colorado House District 59 Representative J. Paul Brown penned an op-ed for Rocky Mountain Voice explaining why he’s backing Naomi Riess to succeed him in representing Southwest Colorado. Brown, a longtime farmer and rancher in La Plata County, has known Riess for years and points to her work with the La Plata County Farm Bureau — where she helped resolve a dispute with the State Land Board over state land leases — as proof of her ability to get results for the region’s agricultural community.
