Endorsement Letter from John Ranson

John Ranson, Archuleta County Commissioner, District 2
John Ranson

To the residents of House District 59,

I am pleased to offer my full endorsement of Naomi Riess for Colorado House District 59.

Over the past several months, I’ve had the opportunity to meet Naomi, learn about her priorities, and understand the depth of her commitment to Southwest Colorado. It became clear very quickly that Naomi has the integrity, work ethic, and common-sense leadership that our region needs at the State Capitol.

Naomi has lived in Southwest Colorado for more than 35 years. She has raised her family here, built a respected career, and served our community with the kind of steady, principled service that is far too rare in politics today. Her platform reflects the values that make our rural communities strong: economic vitality, strong families, individual responsibility, healthy local agriculture, and regulations that support, not burden, our way of life.

I share those values. I learned early, through my father’s and stepmother’s years of leadership in the Republican Party, that effective public service is built on trust, cooperation, and clear priorities. Throughout my own career in public finance, and during my service as Archuleta County Commissioner, my focus has always been on helping communities thrive through sound decisions, fiscal responsibility, and putting people first.

That is exactly the kind of leadership Naomi will bring to the Colorado House.

Her understanding of rural challenges, and her commitment to opportunity, stability, and optimism for future generations, aligns with the issues we face every day here in Archuleta County. Whether it’s securing water resources, supporting small businesses, strengthening local agriculture, or pushing back on policies that harm rural families, I know Naomi will fight for us.

I was proud to support Clark Craig when he ran for this seat, and I am equally proud to stand behind Naomi today. HD59 is too important to lose, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to help elect a strong conservative leader who will represent our counties with clarity, courage, and conviction.

Southwest Colorado deserves a Representative who understands us, listens to us, and works tirelessly on our behalf. Naomi Riess is that candidate.

I encourage you to join me in supporting her.

Sincerely,

John Ranson
Archuleta County Commissioner, District 2
